Who We Are
Veldhuisen Construction was established in 1987 by Gary and Anita Veldhuisen. Let us tell you a bit about ourselves. Gary is not easily excited, and we say that in a good way. His even temperament combined with a wealth of construction experience is invaluable in the house building process. Anita is detail oriented. She will dot the ‘i’s and cross the ‘t’s that keep your project on track. Jason joined his parents in the family business in 2011. He puts his competitive nature and construction skills to good use in his role as foreman of one of our crews.

Each of our crews brings an efficient mix of knowledge, experience, work ethic and positive attitude to every project. A high ratio of journeyman carpenters ensures that your home will be soundly built, plumb and square. We consider our employees our best asset but close second is the network of local suppliers and sub-contractors who partner with us to provide a positive home building experience for each our clients.
Then and Now
In the early years, Veldhuisen Construction’s focus was in providing construction services for a variety of agricultural building projects: hog barns, pole sheds, shops and farm houses. Today, we take pride in being a small general contractor with a solid reputation for building high quality homes for owners of both town lots and rural properties.
Veldhuisen Construction is not a large company, but just the right size. We are small enough to give our personal attention to each project. And we are large enough to handle a number of custom home builds simultaneously and efficiently. One of our 2012 projects, an 1800 square foot home with attached garage and finished basement was completed and ready for occupancy in four and a half months! (In order to repeat this expedited schedule, you will have to be as prompt and decisive as these great customers were!)
